Pneumatic mechanism is different from pump type to pump type. But they are based on simple theories like “universal gas low”, Bernoulli’s theorem. But the pumping mechanism of pneumatic pumps is just simple like a piston.Mechanisms of pneumatic pumps have most of diaphragm pumps and piston pumps used in pneumatic applications.
Pneumatic pumping systems
Pneumatic pumps are pumps which use gas power (normally air). So there should be pneumatic mechanisms for work pump. The simple diagram of a pneumatic pumping mechanism is shown below.
Pumping mechanism
It is just simple two steps, like a motion of a piston like above. Piston moving up and water take in to the piston chamber and when piston moving down water pump. Non returning valves are very important in this process.
When piston coming down valve 1 closes and valve 2 open then water pump from the chamber (cause of pressure difference).
As above figures, pumping of pneumatic pumping mechanism is not a continuous flow. It is a discontinuous flow. But this discontinuous flow and pneumatic mechanism is useful for some occasions, like where electricity unavailable or not suitable places.
